Waxman tribute on CBC
By BILL BRIOUX
The hour-long special, hosted by Peter Mansbridge, airs tonight at 8 p.m. and will be repeated at 11 p.m. Besides plenty of clips from Waxman's fondly remembered '70s sitcom, The King Of Kensington, the hour features interviews with his series co-stars, including Fiona Reid (who played Larry King's wife Cathy). Sharon Gless, who co-starred with Waxman on CBS's long-running hit Cagney & Lacey, also shares her memories of Waxman, as does Norman Jewison, who directed the actor in The Hurricane. Stephen Brackley, who directed Waxman's last series, Twice In A Lifetime (season two wrapped just shortly before Waxman's death) also talks about working with the King. The hour has plenty of interview clips of Waxman himself, as well as scene's from his recent Stratford Festival triumph, Death Of A Salesman. |
