Witherspoon sees green with 'Blonde' sequel
By JAM! Movies

Reese Witherspoon's role as the ditzy blonde is really paying off.

Variety reports the "Legally Blonde" star will be paid $15 million U.S. to reprise her role as bubbly blonde sorority girl Elle Woods in "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde," the sequel to the surprise 2001 box office hit.

In addition to her starring role, Witherspoon will also produce the film.

Witherspoon received a $1 million payday for the original and earned $5 million for the upcoming "Sweet Home Alabama," which hits theatres Sep. 27.

"Legally Blonde" director Robert Luketic has passed on the sequel and there is currently no director assigned to the film.

Filming is tentatively scheduled to start in November, with a target release date of July 2003.
