Reese Witherspoon has officially confirmed she's expecting her second child, Ananova.com reports.

The "Legally Blonde" star told talk show host Jay Leno on Friday night that baby rumours are true -- and she and husband Ryan Phillippe are delighted they're going to be parents again.

The pair found out they had a new baby on the way after returning from a second honeymoon in the Caribbean.

The actress also revealed the couple's three-year-old daughter Ava is just as thrilled as they are. "My daughter is so excited," she told Jay Leno.

"She's making lots of preparations around the house. The other day she told me: "Mommy, the baby needs something - cheese snacks". We had to go to the store and get lots of cheese snacks."

Witherspoon will start work on her new movie "Vanity Fair" next month, with British actor James Purefoy.
