Reese Witherspoon will be co-producing and starring in the upcoming romantic comedy "The Proposal," according to Variety.

The film follows the trials and tribulations of a couple as they plan for their wedding.

Witherspoon will produce the movie through her production company Type A Films. The company is also developing "Penelope," "Whiteout," "The Sports Widow" and the remake "Bunny Lake Is Missing."

Witherspoon will be seen next in "Vanity Fair," due out in September.
