Diesel-powered film runs on empty
You may have seen Traffik, the harrowing, 1989 British TV mini-series about the Pakistan-to-England drug cartels that inspired Steven Soderbergh's Traffic. It was so raw and revealing that you had to watch.

You may have seen Soderbergh's brilliantly orchestrated, multi-storied American version, which deconstructed the business of drug running between Mexico and the U.S. It was so well-written, directed, acted and photographed that it asserted itself at the Oscars as a dark horse candidate.
