Atom Egoyan is at it again with his remarkable yet difficult and provocative film, Ararat.
For his detractors, especially people who want their cinema in bite-sized slices of entertainment or escapism, that is a bad thing. For his core group of supporters, people who "get" films such as Felicia's Journey, Exotica and especially his stunning, Oscar-nominated masterpiece The Sweet Hereafter, that is a very good thing indeed.
