In apartheid South Africa, Boesman (Danny Glover) and Lena (Angela Bassett) are 'coloureds' trying to survive harsh conditions and memories of better times.

Boesman & Lena, the dramatic snapshot of that couple, was an acclaimed play by South African writer Athol Fugard and is now a film by John Berry, a former blacklisted U.S. director.
