Brotherhood Of The Wolf is such a bizarre, stylish and genre-defying film that you can't help but watch, even when bones crunch and blood spurts.
Shot in French under the title Le Pacte Des Loups and playing here with English subtitles, director Christophe Gans' effort is a jumble of horror, romance, swashbuckling action, class war and socio-political rant set in 18th-century, pre-Revolution France. It played in last fall's Toronto filmfest.
