In Camp, various adolescent social misfits find themselves and prosper, sort of, at a summer camp for the performing arts. The film is the poor man's verson of Fame. It is also technically amateurish and really badly written, but the acting newcomers who make up the cast do a good job with the lousy material they've been given.
Camp was written and directed by Todd Graff, who based the film on his own youthful experiences at Stagedoor Manor, a real life performing arts camp. This low-budget film was put together quickly and with heart, but it just doesn't work.
