Dreary, dull and plodding, Charlotte Gray is the rare property not even the presence of Cate Blanchett can redeem. Blanchett, who could probably turn a Gong Show appearance into high art, can't be faulted for anything except agreeing to star in this film, which reunited her with Gillian Armstrong, the director who gave her a career break with Oscar & Lucinda.
