The new 3D Cirque du Soleil film is for those who appreciate the circus and its different disciplines.

The movie's plot might be predictable and the acting less than stellar, but Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away, the circus' second foray into film, presents a chain of breathtaking images that showcases the Cirque's artists from a unique point of view.

The greatest quality of the film, which is directed by Andrew Adamson (Shrek) and co-produced by James Cameron (Avatar), is not the movie's plot. Rather, it's the film's grandiose and magnificent imagery that makes it fantastic.

One cannot recommend this film enough, especially in its IMAX 3D form.

Viewers will get the chance to watch the Cirque's signature shows: O, Ka, Mystere, Viva Elvis, Love, Criss Angel Believe and Zumanity, all of which were presented in Las Vegas.

The camera angles offer perspectives on the show that the Cirque's regular circus audience could never see from the bleachers.

During the part of the movie that showcases the O show, for example, the camera is placed in such a way that it gives the viewer an unparalleled point of view for each movement and every detail of the choreography.

The 3D format gives the viewer the sense that they are being splashed with fantastic acrobatic maneuvers, making the cinematic experience simply magic.

The plot is about a young woman who chooses to leave her banal life and join the circus. She immediately falls in love with a good-looking acrobat.

During an acrobatic routine, the object of her desire takes a bad fall and gets plunged into another world, similar to the dreamscape of Alice in Wonderland.

Erica Linz, the Cirque performer who stars in the film, is an acrobat by training. She isn't the worst actress, but parts of her performance get tiring.

After her love disappears into the fantasy world, she decides to follow him. The end of the film, much like the rest of the plot, is predictable, however.

This film shouldn't be watched for its plot development. However, despite its faults, Worlds Away is definitely a film to see.

The Cirque du Soleil couldn't have made a better investment. Worlds Away is a marketing campaign designed as a film and it will give you the desire to buy a plane ticket and head to Vegas as soon as possible to satisfy your Cirque craving.
