Movie Review: Crossroads

It's cute as commerce
Britney Spears does a perfectly adequate job in her debut feature film, Crossroads. Spears seems comfortable in front of the camera, which is no small feat given the material she has to work with. The movie is dreadful.

No worse than Ali McGraw, Madonna, Mariah Carey and many other inexplicable actresses, Spears stars here in the story of three friends who travel from their home in Georgia to California. She plays Lucy, the goody-goody of the trio; Zoe Saldana is her high attitude, over-achiever friend; Taryn Manning -- the best thing in the movie -- is pregnant and toughing it out.
