The Japanese film Cure wants to freak you out and probably will.
Kiyoshi Kurosawa (no relation to Akira Kurosawa) has created something complex and confounding that will appeal to filmgoers tired of arguing about what really went on in Memento. This puts a nifty spin on the serial killer storyline, rejects the standard atmospherics of psychological thrillers and flip-flops the sequence of mystery, suspense and revelation.
