Deeply is young writer-director Sheri Elwood's heartfelt coming-of-age film, a fractured fairytale set on a lonely, windswept island off Nova Scotia.

While it ostensibly tells the story about two teenaged girls -- one in the present, one 50 years in the past and shown in extended flashbacks -- the pillar of strength here is Lynn Redgrave, who is obviously not one of the teens.
