Can we call a spade a spade? Down to Earth is a comedy based on a consciousness of racial divide that is peculiar to America. Most of the jokes are based on black and white stereotypes; it's not that the material isn't funny, it's that the material, which may well be hilarious to somebody else, seems foreign to this viewer.

Chris Rock stars as Lance in Down To Earth. The movie is a remake of Heaven Can Wait (which starred Warren Beatty) and tells the story of a man who is mistakenly whisked up to heaven by an angel long before his earthly time is up.
