In Envy, a really putrid movie, Jack Black and Ben Stiller star as best friends and neighbours. Both men are married with children. Both are working stiffs.

Then Jack Black's character invents a spray that makes dog droppings vaporize and his fortunes change overnight. He is now filthy rich. Stiller's character -- the best friend across the street -- is consumed with envy over his buddy's good fortune. To make matters even worse, Stiller had a chance to invest in the invention and be an equal partner, but he turned that chance down.
