The Emperor's Club was shown during the Toronto film festival in September, and watching it in the midst of all that movie chaos was a warm and fuzzy experience.
Kevin Kline stars in the film as an earnest teacher of Greek and Roman history. He tells his lads at St. Benedict's School that character is destiny. He tells them to work hard and play fair. As you might imagine, not all the boys can stay the course. Why, for goodness' sake -- character is destiny.
