When he first released Fantasia back in 1941, Walt Disney intended to change it every year, subtracting some short films and adding others, to create a unique entity in the movie realm: a feature that changes every time it is released.
It was a brilliant idea but the public wasn't ready for it. It was shelved because the first release of Fantasia wasn't successful. Reinventing it would have been sheer financial folly.
