James Ivory's reverential The Golden Bowl is a refugee from last year's Cannes fest film that is finally getting its Canadian release now, exactly one year later.
The long wait is in keeping with the protracted telling of the languid anti-love story in the film. This is another epic-length, handsome, dignified but often dull Merchant-Ivory movie made from a Henry James novel.
