French filmmaker Laurent Firode's odd little effort Happenstance is a bittersweet dramatic comedy about people connected only by random accidents and coincidences.

While light in weight and intellect -- because it doesn't take things to their logical extreme -- the film is lively and interesting enough to sustain a viewing and send your head spinning for a few minutes with the plot twists.
