Johnny, Carl Bessai's gritty Toronto squeegee kids drama, is already an historical footnote in Canadian movie history.

 It is the first feature shot in this country under Dogme 95, a set of arbitrary rules made up by a quartet of Danish directors including maverick Lars Von Trier. The idea is to lead filmmakers back to the basics of cinema.
