The folks at Disney have taken the bare necessities from their 1967 classic The Jungle Book for its sequel, opening in town today.
Disney is going through its vaults and making sequels to all its major hits but generally they go straight to video and DVD. Last year, Disney tested the waters by releasing the Peter Pan sequel, Return to Neverland, in theatres. It returned a whopping $50 million US on its $20-million budget before it even travelled overseas and onto DVD and video. That's why we have The Jungle Book 2, opening in town today, with its similar flat computer animation and recycled storyline.
