When love reaches beyond Enclosures
The bleak Canadian landscape, the clashing symbols, the unvarnished performances, the difficult narrative, the dark emotion: The Law Of Enclosures has just about everything one might regard with suspicion on the big screen and yet works out to be a wildly transporting experience.

There is no escape from The Law of Enclosures
There is a hint of Groundhog Day in the premise of John Greyson's made-in-Manitoba drama The Law of Enclosures. Just don't expect to laugh.

Its characters are not trapped in a day but a year -- 1991, when the Gulf War held North Americans transfixed to their TV sets, watching war unfold live and in colour. In the original Bush-era spirit of oblivion, no one is apparently aware of the time warp in which they exist.
