Movie Review: Love And Basketball

Love And Basketball scores on two courts
Surprise! Love And Basketball is a movie that deftly combines a basketball obsession with a heartfelt love story, profiling a couple from age 11 to adulthood.

Filmmaker Gina Prince-Bythewood, the Emmy-winning TV writer making her film directorial debut, infuses the piece with such smart dialogue and good social insights that the sports milieu is in balance with the drama. Game of love
"All is fair in love and basketball," says hotshot player Monica (Sanaa Lathan) as she engages in a little one-one-one with her NBA-aspiring boyfriend Quincy (Omar Epps).
