Toronto filmmaker Clement Virgo is a slick visual stylist with a passion for writing and directing heartfelt stories about people seeking redemption in a confusing world.

It's slightly odd then, that even though his latest film Love Come Down was nominated for nine Genie Awards and went on to win three, Virgo did not get nominated as best director (although he was as best screenwriter). And two of the Genies the film did win were for sound, not picture or content.
