The frustration of two lovers who can't connect is matched only by the frustration that may be felt by the audience viewing Lunch With Charles.
Playing tonight as part of the Local Heroes International Film Festival, Michael Parker's film is part romantic comedy, part road movie and a whole lot of fantastic coincidences. The manipulation of four characters caught in a love rectangle sometimes reaches a point where they become as puppets, although it's mitigated by strong performances from the cast.
