A brisk romantic tale about falling in and out of love, The Last Kiss is centered around a handful of characters in the same family -- Carlo, who is expecting a baby with Giulia, (Giovanna Mezzogiorno) but torn between marriage and personal freedom; Anna, Giulia's middle-aged mother, who is fed up after 30 years of marriage and wants to leave home; the teenaged Francesca, who loves Carlo; Adriano, a young married man who doesn't want to be married anymore; and Paolo and Alberto, buddies of Adriano and Carlo, who are determined to run away and start life anew. So many plans, so little movement.
