Chalk it up to producer Guy Ritchie's exposure to Madonna, but the prison/soccer movie Mean Machine is a rare bird in filmmaking -- a foreign remake of a Hollywood classic.

Okay, we don't mean "classic" in the Battleship Potemkin sense. But the 1971 Burt Reynolds flick The Longest Yard has been seen by every red-blooded North American male of a certain age, and is considered a classic comedy by me.
