Once Upon A Time In The Midlands is a British working class comedy/love story that's really more of a TV movie, but what the heck.

Ladies love outlaws. Jimmy (Robert Carlyle) fits that bill, sleeping and watching telly between bouts of robbing in Glasgow. One day he's watching a reality show on TV, and lo and behold -- that's his old love, Shirley, on the program. And she's turning down a marriage proposal, on national television, from some chap who's taking her refusal rather badly. Jimmy decides it's time he got back home to the midlands to reclaim his girl.
