It's three short stories of women's personal empowerment. If that's all you knew about Personal Velocity going in, you might feel eye-rolling dismay as the first tale begins to unroll.

The movie begins with Delia (Kyra Sedgwick) being beaten up by her brutal husband (David Warshofsky) in front of their children. Later as he sleeps, she packs them up and leaves.
