It seems like only a few months ago that we had to sit through the last Pokemon movie.

It's time again, because Pokemon is a trend. If you've been to a garage sale and noticed all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles available cheap, you'll be reminded that kid trends don't last forever. A second Pokemon movie in less than a year is what marketing people call "striking while the fad is hot."

A review of Pokemon The Movie 2000 is sort of moot: If someone in your household is in the midst of Pokemon fever, you'll be there. If not, not. That was easy.

Here's the story: A bad guy in a flying machine intends to snatch three powerful Pokemon birds (Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno) who represent fire, lightning and ice. In so doing, the bad guy will upset nature's global balance. Or something like that.
