If news networks like CNN offer the most heavily filtered, censored and sound-bite-friendly portrayal of politics and war imaginable - and let's face it, they do - then the polar opposite would have to be conflict as viewed through the eyes of children who are directly affected by it.
The Oscar-nominated documentary Promises, playing tonight through Tuesday at the Metro Cinema (no show on Saturday), is remarkable because of its utter simplicity and honesty.
