Most of the young men depicted in Raising Victor Vargas, a contemporary movie set in the Latino community in Manhattan's Lower East Side, are oversexed poseurs.

These vainglorious youths are so immature that they "romance" women with a barrage of machismo that verges on criminal sexual abuse. Mean streets indeed.
