Satin Rouge is a sensuous and somewhat subversive film about a woman transformed through dancing -- belly-dancing, to be specific.

Set in Tunis, Satin Rouge stars Hiam Abbass as Lilia, a young widow with a teenage daughter and a really conservative (and boring) life. The film opens with Lilia dusting, watching TV, sitting around, worrying about her daughter.
