While the calamitous bursting of the dot-com economy's bubble has practically become fodder for late-night talk show jokes, nobody has really given those of us outside Silicon Valley and the walls of the NYSE a glimpse into the world of Internet startups and splashdowns.
Until now, that is. Startup.com, a documentary produced by award-winning filmmakers Chris Hegedus and husband D A Pennebaker, traces the meteoric rise and flaming descent of one such e-company, from Big Idea to Bigger Disaster. It opens today at the Garneau Theatre.
