The Endless Summer was a hugely popular film released in 1966 about a sport that was fairly new in America -- surfing. Filmmaker Bruce Brown then made Endless Summer 2 in 1994 with the help of his son Dana Brown. Now Brown the younger continues the tradition with Step Into Liquid, a documentary about surfing that, like the sport itself, is equal parts charm and big thrills.

Step Into Liquid is about big waves and odd people. The film roams all over the world, following surfers in the obvious spots like Australia and Hawaii but also those in such unlikely places as Texas and Ireland.
