We never got to visit the freak show at the Canadian National Exhibition, but the experience of watching a documentary called Stevie may have filled that gap in our education.

Steve James, filmmaker, used to be a Big Brother to an angelic looking little boy named Stevie Fielding. Stevie had a very tough childhood -- illegitimate, abandoned by his mom, raised by a step-grandma, already deemed unmanageable in grade school.
