Tale is a Taste of honey
There are two meanings to the title of French writer-director Agnes Jaoui's new film. It's about the rewards of opening up to relationships with people outside your normal circle -- 'tasting' others -- and it's about how we judge the aesthetic of other people and try to impose ours upon them.

This is a witty romantic comedy filled with characters who tend to melancholia and whose preconceptions about others handicap their search for happiness. A knockout piece of entertainment, The Taste Of Others was France's submission to last year's Best Foreign Language Film contest at the Academy Awards. Its depth and honesty easily shows up Amelie, France's submission this year.
