Seventy-three-year-old Jacques Rivette, one of the veterans of the legendary New Wave movement in France and a director for almost 53 years, has his staunch supporters.
So his latest effort, the angst-ridden yet occasionally droll romantic comedy Va Savoir (or Who Knows? in the English translation), has its honours. It was an official selection in the 2001 Cannes Film Festival in May and went on to open the New York Film Festival in the fall.
