Kanye West beats out OLP for No. 1 in Canada.

A hip-hop sensation, a Canadian rock quartet, and an up-and-coming rapper debuted atop the Canadian album charts this week.

Kanye West's "Late Registration" premiered at No. 1 on the SoundScan Canada retail album chart this week, on sales of more than 38,000 copies. Our Lady Peace's "Healthy in Paranoid Times" came second on sales of 22,000 copies, followed by Tony Yayo's "Thoughts of a Predicate Felon," which came in at No. 3, with 19,000 copies sold.

The top three debuts pushed Hilary Duff's "Most Wanted" down to fourth, after occupying the top spot in the land for 2 consecutive weeks.

Elsewhere, the Black Eyed Peas' "Monkey Business" dropped from second to fifth, Green Day's "American Idiot" slipped from third to sixth, and Rihanna's new release "Music of the Sun" spent its first week in seventh.

Coldplay's "X&Y" and The Killers' "Hot Fuss" both sank four spots to eighth and ninth, and Mariah Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi" rounded out the top 10.

Other notable debuts this week included Death Cab For Cutie's "Plans" at No. 17, Eric Clapton's "Back Home" at No. 22, and Brooks & Dunn's "Hillbilly Deluxe" at No. 31.

In the U.S., Kanye West checked in at No. 1 with 860,000 in sales, followed by Tony Yayo in second, Brooks & Dunn in third, Death Cab For Cutie in fourth, and Mariah Carey in fifth.
