 Audioslave's Chris Cornell.

Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell will tap into his love of R&B music and family life to comprise the band's newest album, "Revelations," set to bow in June.
Cornell told Rolling Stone.com that his favourite singers are Stevie Wonder, Mavis Staples, and the Chamber Brothers, with their influence felt on songs such as "Broken City."
"My vocal cadence is different, my approach to the vocal is different," Cornell said. "And with this band, we have the ability to go into more of a soul/R&B direction and have it be authentic. It's exciting."
The former Soundgarden singer also draws from the time spent with his family for his lyrics on the band's follow-up effort to 2005's "Out of Exile."
"When I'm not in the studio making records with Audioslave, I'm at home with my wife and my kids," Cornell said. "So there are a lot of songs where I mention them - where maybe the subject is about something else, but they're not in there. My family is my chief concern."
