Pink makes big Cdn. chart debut
By
Senior Editor, JAM! Showbiz

Pink's fourth studio album made a colourful impression on the Canadian album charts this week.

The 26-year-old bad girl's "I'm Not Dead" debuted at No. 2 with sales of over 13,000 copies, her best ever chart showing north of the border, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.

It's Pink's first new material since the 2003 Tim Armstrong-produced (Rancid) punk rock set "Try This."

However, she couldn't topple James Blunt's "Back To Bedlam" (15,000), which continued to be the top disc in the land.

Meanwhile, buoyed by his huge Juno night, Michael Buble's "It's Time" shot up eight positions to No. 3, with sales of his album increasing 150% this week to just under 13,000 copies.

The second best entry of the week went to country trio Rascal Flatts, whose new effort "Me and My Gang" checked in at No. 4.

Pierre Laponte's "La Foret Des Mal Aimes" and Tim McGraw's "Greatest Hits" both dropped three spots to No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, and Madonna's "Confessions on a Dancefloor" climbed one notch to No. 7.

Ringtone sensation Crazy Frog climbed 15-8 with "Crazy Hits," the Juno Awards compilation movied down three to No. 9, and Nickelback's "All the Right Reasons" checked back into the top 10 at No. 10.

Other debuts in the top 50 included Wilfred Le Bouthillier's "Poussieres" at No. 12, The Flaming Lips' "At War With the Mystics" at No. 19, Stabilo's "Happiness and Disaster" at No. 27, Ghostface Killah's "Fishscale" at No. 38, "Oh What a Feeling 3" at No. 40, and Morrissey's "Ringleader of the Tormentors" at No. 41.

In the U.S., Rascal Flatts entered the charts at No. 1, followed by the compilation "NOW! 12" in second, T.I.'s "King" in third, the "High School Musical" TV show soundtrack in fourth, and Tim McGraw in fifth.
