Ex crashes Much bash

Former 90210 star Tori Spelling arrives wearing her red-carpet game face Sunday night at the MuchMusic Video Awards. (Dave Abel, Sun)

It was like a scene right out of Beverly Hills, 90210. There was Tori Spelling, in Toronto Sunday with new Canadian hubby Dean McDermott for the MuchMusic Video Awards. So who crashes the scene but McDermott's out-of-control ex, Mary Jo Eustace.

Chatty Spelling spilled the beans to the Sun yesterday from CTV's Masonic Temple, where she was promoting her upcoming series So NoTORIous (premiering in Canada July 13 on MTV).

Spelling was bonding backstage with billionaire gal pal Paris Hilton at the time. "Paris and I have known each other since we were little girls," said Spelling. She said Hilton was showering praise on McDermott, thanking him "for making my girl happy."

"Funny you should say that," said Spelling, "because the ex-wife is here and her friend is screaming home wrecker over there."

The friend? Eustace's former cooking show co-host, Ken Kostick.

"And then Paris," continued Spelling, "in very Paris style, looked over and said, 'F---, that's pathetic.'"

Eustace, who's shopping a book about her messy marital bust up, crashed the MMVAs with Kostick. She told Canadian Press that at one point she was tossed from the CHUM/CITY building when security told her there was a restraining order against her.

Fortunately, no finger nails were broken at the event. Spelling said she had no direct contact with Eustace, who had told her ex-husband she was up north at a cottage for the weekend with their seven-year-old son, Jack. Spelling said the ex ambush kind of wrecked Father's Day, but that's showbiz.

Otherwise, how was the party? Spelling said she had a blast at the MMVAs. "It's so much better than (U.S.) award shows," she said. "Ours are so formal and structured; everyone is kept away from you. Here it's loose, everyone's just walking down the red carpet ... the fans are all on top of you ... you don't feel so separated." Well, unless you're the ex-wife.

VEY FOR VICTORY: When did CTV change its name to CT...vey? Have you noticed the pretentious way the announcer drags out the "V" on all their on-air promos? Soon CT...vey will be able to jam extra ads into the space between CT and vey. Don't think they won't try it. Or maybe it is some subtle tribute to Mike Myers. "No vey...CT...Vey."

JUICED: Holy Lord, I'm watching a big time network Stanley Cup broadcast and suddenly there is old Ben Johnson galloping along in an ad for some miracle beverage called "Cheetah Power Surge." I thought it was a Rick Mercer gag or some kind of Canuck Daily Show spoof. They've even superimposed an actual cheetah over a shot of Johnson sprinting. Viewers are told to "go ahead and Cheetah!!"

What's next, Janet Gretzky for Casino Rama? O.J. Simpson for Ginsu Knives?

The ads are brought to us by Frank D'Angelo, the same carney pitchmeister who appears in those low rent ads for Steelhouse Brewery. You know, the locker room spot where the Hull and Esposito brothers and all those other NHL Hall of Famers like Brad Park and Denis Potvin play stooge to some sweaty beer baron in goalie pads. Can these hockey gods really be bought for a case of beer? Where is Todd Bertuzzi when you need him?
