Crazy Frog hops to No. 1 on charts
By
Senior Editor, JAM! Showbiz

Crazy Frog debuts at No. 1 in Canada.

Crazy Frog may be considered the most irritating amphibian on the planet, but it didn't stop Canadians from sending the character to No. 1 on the album charts.

Crazy Frog's "More Crazy Hits" debuted at No. 1 in the nation this week, racking up over 15,000 in sales, according to data compiled by Neilsen SoundScan.

The debut also helped the ringtone sensation's other release, "Crazy Hits," to re-enter the top 10 at No. 10.

Elsewhere, Nelly Furtado's "Loose" (12,000) was forced out of the top spot down to No. 2, Billy Talent's "Billy Talent II" (8,000) slipped to No. 3, and the Dixie Chicks' "Taking the Long Way" claimed the No. 4 position.

Tom Petty had the second highest debut of the week, checking in at No. 5 with his latest solo album, "Highway Companion."

Rihanna's "Girl Like Me" and Shakira's "Oral Fixation Vol. 2" both sank two notches to No. 6 and No. 7, Pharrell's "In My Mind" premiered at No. 8, and Three Days Grace's "One-X" slid three spaces to No. 9.

Other notable debuts included Jurassic 5's "Feedback" at No. 27, and the "I'm Your Man" soundtrack at No. 32.

In the U.S., ex-Destiny's Child member LeToya Luckett's "LeToya" debuted at No. 1 with 165,000 in sales, followed by the compilation "Now 22" in second, Pharrell in third, Tom Petty in fourth, and Gnarls Barkley's "St. Elsewhere" in fifth.
