Mariah Carey denied rumours that her marriage to Nick Cannon is already on the rocks.

"It's good. Life is beautiful, and things are going well," the pop diva told MTV News, usmagazine.com reported.

"I'm like, 'Why would we have gotten married?' People are going to say what they say, but what would be the purpose? I guess other people do those things for a purpose, but I don't know."

Carey said she and Cannon are ready to start a family, and she can't imagine anyone being a better dad than her husband.
