50 Cent cleared in fire mystery

Rap superstar 50 Cent has officially been cleared by New York police of having any involvement in the fire that destroyed his Long Island home.

The In Da Club hitmaker's mansion, which his ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins and their 11-year-old son Marquise called home, was set alight in May 2008.

50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, had been in the process of getting Tompkins evicted from the property just months before the incident, prompting his bitter ex to suggest he was behind the blaze.

The hip-hop star blasted the accusations, and now authorities have cleared him of any wrongdoing as the investigation into the suspicious fire continues.

A post on the rapper's website ThisIs50.com reads, "The police department and insurance investigators ruled that there is absolutely no proof or evidence suggesting that Curtis Jackson or any affiliated parties were involved.

"Curtis Jackson has just been cleared of all the accusations. The investigation will continue until the guilty party is found.”
