Kelis, Nas welcome baby boy

Kelis. (WENN.COM)

R&B singer Kelis has made an emotional tribute to her new baby son, Knight - calling the tot "kinda perfect".

The Milkshake hitmaker welcomed her first child with estranged husband Nas this week after a three day labour in a New York hospital.

Kelis admits the birth was the most painful experience of her life, but she is delighted with her beautiful baby son.

Writing on her Twitter.com internet page, she states, "OK, so I did it, he's 7.8 pounds of the greatest stuff on earth. I was in labour for three of the longest, most painful days of my life. I don't understand when women say they don't remember giving birth.

"I will remember for the rest of my life. He's kinda (sic) perfect."

Kelis has been accused of banning her former partner from the birth, amid reports the rapper was drunk on champagne following a concert.

The hip-hop supercouple split earlier this year and is currently in the middle of divorce proceedings.
