Pussycat Dolls rift heats up
Bookmark and Share

Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt has finally opened up about the rift which is threatening to tear the band apart - accusing music bosses of favouritism by focusing on frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger.

The group has long been dogged by reports of tension between the members after their last two singles were released under the name The Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger.

The reports were further fuelled by allegations that bandmember Melody Thornton publicly criticised Scherzinger onstage at a gig in Phoenix, Arizona earlier this year.

Wyatt has now spoken publicly about the problems within the group, admitting all the other members feel slighted by their record label bosses because they are so determined to push Scherzinger to the front.

The singer reveals she gets upset when she sees the band's videos - because she hardly features in them - and wishes she had more of a say in group decisions.

She says, "It's true, there has always been a lot of focus on Nicole which has been hard to deal with sometimes. This group was created with a foundation, they knew exactly what they wanted and they had Nicole as the focus.

"Every video and stage performance that we've done, Nicole has been our leader. I wasn't in videos like I wanted and wasn't seen in the way I was hoping, which has been the same for all the other girls too.

"I don't really make any of the decisions, I'm in the group and can voice my opinions to a degree but at the end of the day it is a business and there are a lot of chefs in the kitchen that run the Pussycat Dolls."
