Def Leppard cancels final leg of tour
By Darryl Sterdan – Sun Media

The cats aren’t coming back after all — but Chinese Democracy may be just around the corner.

Pop-metal outfit Def Leppard cancelled the third and final leg of its Sparkle Lounge tour yesterday due to “unforseen personal matters.”

“We’ve agonized over this decision,” the band said in a statement.

“But unfortunately, life’s commitments need to be the priority.”

Refunds for all shows — including seven Canadian dates in Vancouver (Oct. 27), Regina (Oct. 29), Edmonton (Oct. 31), Calgary (Nov. 2), Winnipeg (Nov. 4), Ottawa (Nov. 12) and Hamilton (Nov. 13) — are available at point of purchase.

But before you spend that refund on something silly like food, know this: Rumours are circulating Guns N’ Roses will announce a string of Canadian dates on Monday.

A Quebec concert promoter’s website yesterday featured a countdown banner that contained a picture of Axl Rose and promised a “major announcement” on Monday.

Stay tuned.
