Morrissey dumps management team

Morose rocker Morrissey has cut ties with his management team on the advice of his lawyers.

The former The Smiths frontman endured a difficult 2009 filled with tour cancellations and health troubles, in addition to splitting from his record label Universal.

Now he's starting 2010 afresh and has ended his business relationship with Front Line Management.

In a statement posted on True-to-you.net, Morrissey says, "Following consultation with my lawyers, I wish it to be known that I have terminated, with immediate effect, my association with Front Line Management (Irving Azoff, Andy Gould and Lil Gary), who no longer have any rights to issue any statements on my behalf.

"I would also like to stress that I have no association with accountants appointed by Front Line, namely London & Co."

The reason behind his decision was unknown as WENN went to press.

Morrissey recently apologised to fans after a planned pre-Christmas budget album release turned into an embarrassing "disaster".

He claimed record label bosses messed up his plans to release B-sides and rarities album Swords as a gift for fans, and instead made the it "the most expensive CD on the (store) racks".

The notoriously strict vegetarian was also left fuming after his employees sent out a post-Thanksgiving email to fans referring to eating turkey.

The message on his online merchandise store said: "Thanksgiving is over, so put down those turkey legs!"

His merchandising team immediately apologised for the memo, stating: "Morrissey is a strict vegetarian and abhors the killing of defence-less animals."
